Noch bis einschließlich 10. März stellt Ute Mahler, früher eine der bekanntesten Modefotografinnen für die Sybille, heute Professorin in Hamburg, in der Galerie für Moderne Fotografie in Berlins Mitte (Schröderstraße 13) aus.

“How did the magazine reconcile the aesthetic ideals of fashion with the political ideals of the G.D.R.?” “There wasn’t that much glamour in the photos. It was always attainable, always possible. There was a concept, but it was important to have them in daily life where people would understand the language of the symbols.”
